Mice homozygous for the p.Ala8Val mutation develop hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with cardiac interstitial fibrosis, myofibrillar disarray, enlarged left atrium, diastolic dysfunction and enhanced systolic function. Aged females show anxiety- and depression-like behaviors and adrenal gland hypertrophy.
