Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele display lower electrically- and chemically-induced seizure thresholds. Mice homozygous for a different knock-out allele show enhanced coordination and higher thermal nociceptive thresholds. Other nullizygous mutantsfail to exhibit agonist-induced hypothermia.
