Effects on homozygotes for mutations in this gene vary in severity and include embryonic to perinatal death, malformations of neural tube, spinal ganglia, heart, vertebral column, hindbrain and limb musculature. Heterozygotes have white belly spots and variable spotting on the back and extremeties.
