Homozygotes for a null allele show thymus hyperplasia, abnormal negative T cell selection, increased susceptibility to autoimmune diseases and to tumor initiation and metastasis, and resistance to induced hepatitis. Homozygotes for another null allele are unable to control A20 lymphoma progression.
