Males homozygous for a hypomorphic transgenic insertional mutation exhibit impaired spermatogenesis involving loss of pachytene spermatocytes and are usually sterile. Male mice homozygous for an ENU-induced mutation exhibit infertility with low sperm concentration, poor motility and abnormal shape.
