Mice homozygous for a frameshift mutation display male sterility with multiple sperm flagella malformations and asthenospermia. Males homozygous for a knock-out allele are sterile and show severe oligoasthenoteratospermia with defects in sperm head shaping, acrosome formation and flagellar assembly.
