Homozygotes mutant null mice show higher bone mineral density, hypoactivity, and decreased heart rate. Mice homozygous for a different null allele show resistance to the lethal effects of endotoxin, increased susceptibility to diet-induced acute pancreatitis, and altered LPS-induced febrile and cytokine responses.
