Under high-fat diet conditions, mice homozygous for a knock-out allele show decreased obesity, increased insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance, reduced adipocyte differentiation and macrophage infiltration and fibrosis in white adipose tissue, increased energy expenditure, and decreased hepatic steatosis.
