Homozygous null mice are viable and display normal brain anatomy and no obvious behavioral or morphological defects. However, in medium spiny neurons from mutant mice, the ability of both M1 and D2 receptor activation to modulate L-type calcium channel currents is enhanced by nearly 2-fold.
