Tg(Fabp4-cre)1Rev - Sensory Organs
Recombinase Activity Detail
Allele Information
Allele:
Tg(Fabp4-cre)1Rev
transgene insertion 1, Ronald M Evans
Driver: Fabp4
Type: Transgenic (Recombinase)
Synonym: aP2-CRE, aP2-Cre1, aP2-CreSI, FABP4-Cre
Molecular description: Sequence encoding cre recombinase was adjoined to the Fabp4 promoter, which is active in white and brown adipose tissue. Northern blot analysis and a functional assay showed the transgene to be abundantly expressed in brown and white adipose tissue. Significant expression was not detected in other tissues including skeletal muscle, liver, and heart.
