Molecular description: This transgene consists of a Pomc1 BAC such that cre is driven by Pomc1 regulatory elements. Cre is expressed in POMC neurons in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus and scattered cre activity is also seen in the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus.
