Tg(Tyr-cre/ERT2)13Bos - Skeletal System
Recombinase Activity Detail
Allele Information
Allele:
Tg(Tyr-cre/ERT2)13Bos
transgene insertion 13, Marcus Bosenberg
Driver: Tyr
Type: Transgenic (Inducible, Recombinase)
Inducer: tamoxifen
Synonym: Tyr::CreER, Tyr::CreERT2, Tyr::CreERT2-Bos
Molecular description: This transgene consists of a 5.5 kb fragment of the Tyr promoter and a 3.6 kb fragment of the Tyr enhancer driving expression of a tamoxifen-inducible form of cre recombinase. 3 lines were generated which all showed tamoxifen-inducible Cre activity in cutaneous melanocytes. This is a representative record for all 3 lines. Line 13 contains 2 copies of the transgene inserted into chromosome 2 (chr2:129,989,606; NCBI37/mm9) 7.8 kb downstream of Snrpb and 9.6 kb downstream of Tgm6 with a 3 kb deletion at the integration site. In addition, three or more copies of the transgene were integrated on chromosome 2 resulting in ~3 kb deletion of this intergenic region between base pairs 130,160,936 and 130,163,877 [mouse mm10].
