Tg(CDX2-cre)101Erf - Integumental System
Recombinase Activity Detail
Allele Information
Allele:
Tg(CDX2-cre)101Erf
transgene insertion 101, Eric R Fearon
Driver: CDX2
Type: Transgenic (Recombinase)
Synonym: CDX2P 9.5-NLS Cre, CDX2P9.5-NLSCre, CDX2P-NLS Cre, CPC, Tg(CDX2-cre)1Erf
Molecular description: The CDX2P9.5-NLSCre transgene was designed with a 9.5 kb promoter fragment from the 5' flanking sequences of human caudal type homeo box 2 (CDX2) gene, a Cre recombinase gene with nuclear localization signal, and a bovine growth hormone polyadenylation cassette. This transgene was injected into (C57BL/6J x SJL/J) hybrid cells. Transgenic founders (line 101) were found to have approximately 50 copies of the transgene and were bred to C57BL/6J mice. Cre expression is noted in epithelium of the ileum and cecum and throughout the colon. During early development, expression is observed throughout the caudal region of the embryo.
