Molecular description: A cre recombinase expression cassette containing an IRES domain and a FRT-flanked neomcyin cassette was placed immediately downstream of the stop codon for the gene. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT-flanked neo cassette. Cre expression in the hypothalamus was confirmed by use of a virus containing a cre-dependent reporter gene.
