Molecular description: For targeting of ES cells, a 3.6-kb fragment containing 5' flanking sequences and the first 46 codons of Nkx3-1 exon 1 served as the 5'-homology arm and a 1.6-kb fragment containing codon 112 through the end of exon 2 served as the 3'-homology arm. A PGK-NeoR cassette and Cre recombinase complementary DNA (cDNA) were inserted into exon 1 in frame with Bapx1 coding sequence.
