Molecular description: The mouse bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) RP23-127E17 containing the entire Actl6b gene and approximately 100 kb flanking sequence, was modified by replacing the first 2 exons of the Actl6b gene with the PCR product of the cre recombinase gene and Actl6b 3' UTR, which situates the cre gene just downstream of the start codon. Founder line 4092 was subsequently established.
