Tg(hs799-cre/ERT2,-GFP)405Jlr - Nervous System
Recombinase Activity Detail
Allele Information
Allele:
Tg(hs799-cre/ERT2,-GFP)405Jlr
transgene insertion 405, John Rubenstein
Driver: hs799
Type: Transgenic (Inducible, Recombinase, Reporter)
Inducer: tamoxifen
Synonym: 799-CreER-IRES-GFP
Molecular description: This transgene contains the human enhancer element hs799, which is flanked on human Chr 7 by the neurexophilin 1 (NXPH1) gene and the human ortholog of the mouse AA545190 long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene, followed by a minimal Hsp68 promoter, the cre/ERT2 fusion gene, an internal ribosomal entry site (IRES), and a green fluorescent protein reporter gene. The fusion gene encodes Cre recombinase joined to a modified ligand-binding domain of the human estrogen receptor that preferentially binds tamoxifen or 4-hydroxytamoxifen, but not endogenous 17beta-estradiol; upon binding to tamoxifen, the cre/ERT2 protein is translocated to the nucleus.
