Mice homozygous for a gene trapped allele die shortly after birth and exhibit a loss of acidic granules in the proximal convoluted tubules of the kidneys. Mice homozygous for a conditional allele activated in hematopoeitic compartment exhibit self-renewal and myeloid transforamtion.
