Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit embryonic lethality, decreased embryo size, bilateral kidney agenesis, absence of Wolffian and Mullerian ducts, small testis, heart defects, and exencephaly. Heterozygotes display a slight decrease in ureteric bud branching morphogenesis.
