Assay type: RNA in situ
MGI Accession ID: MGI:5806965
Gene symbol: Neurog2
Gene name: neurogenin 2
Probe: Math4a probe1
Probe preparation: Antisense labelled with digoxigenin RNA
Results
Specimen 1B: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: Double labeled: blue - Neurog2; brown - Calb2 (assay MGI:5806969).
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: dorsal thalamus Present Regionally restricted 1B Expression was detected in a rostrodorsal compartment. There was a lack of expression in a caudoventral compartment. Co-staining with Calretinin showed overlap in the lateral rostrodorsal compartment.

Specimen 1C: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: Frontal section through the thalamus at an intermediate level. Double labeled: blue - Neurog2; brown - Calb2 (assay MGI:5806969).
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: dorsal thalamus Present Regionally restricted 1C Expression was detected in a rostrodorsal compartment with a decreasing mediolateral gradient, but there was a lack of expression in a caudoventral compartment. Co-staining with Calretinin showed overlap in the lateral rostrodorsal compartment.

Specimen 1D: embryonic day 14.5 (more )
Note: Frontal section through the thalamus at a caudal level. Double labeled: blue - Neurog2; brown - Calb2 (assay MGI:5806969).
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS22: dorsal thalamus Absent 1D The caudoventral compartment of the dorsal thalamus lacks expression.
