Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit abnormal growth, hormone and glucose homeostasis, hair cycling, female reproductive behavior, morphology, and function, and thyroid, prostate, Hardarian, and lacrimal gland morphologies. Heterozygous mice exhibit defective neuron proliferation.
