Notes

A second mutation at the Mgrn1 locus was found in the F2 generation of a mutagenesis experiment with caffeine. Homozygotes are black with black pinna hairs and curly whiskers and have reduced viability (J:15051)(J:15072). md^nc/md mice have straight whiskers and are darker than md/md but not as dark as md^nc/md^nc mice (J:13791).
