Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Chemically induced (other)
Mutation:    Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThis allele comprises a 2.8 kb deletion. The deletion includes 129 bp that also are deleted from the distal breakpoint of the allele ajIs(17;In2)1Gso. In neonatal skin a transcript is present at wild-type levels, but is decreased in size to an extent that is consistent with a deletion of the third exon of nonagouti. (J:3523, J:16567)
Inheritance:    Recessive

Notes
This allele was induced by methylnitrosourea (MNU) in spermatogonia. Homozygotes are jet black in color (J:16567).
