Notes

This phenotype is found in the A/J, BALB/c, and DBA/2J strains but not in C57BL/6J strains. It has been suggested that this phenotypic mutation is a naturally occurring model for loss of activity of the Camk2g gene encoding the gamma isoforms of calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase, which also maps to Chr 14 (J:16757).
