Notes
Since homozygotes die by E13.5, chimeras, in which homozygous mutant ES cells were injected into wild-type embryos, were used to analyze hematopoiesis in adults. Homozygous mutant cells fail to contribute to the red blood cell fraction of chimeric adults although they contribute extensively to the white cell fraction (J:31156).
