Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThe transgene consisted of 3.5kb of the Hoxa1 regulatory region gene with a lacZ reporter sequence. The transgene inserted into intron 7 and separates exons 7 and 8, which code for the two chondroitin sulfate binding domains. RT-PCR analysis detected truncated mRNA transcripts in homozygous embryos. None of the alternative splice forms of the gene are detected in hearts from homozygous mice. (J:50233)
Inheritance:    Recessive
