Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:55841
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsAn in-frame lacZ-neomycin resistance cassette replaced the exons encoding the second through the sixth ankyrin repeats. This allele expresses a beta galactosidase fusion protein. (J:55841)

Notes
In aggregation chimeras with wild-type tetraploid embryos, mutant embryos develop normally until E12.5 but die before E13.5. Chimeric placentas show restored maternal blood sinus formation. (J:120082).
