Strain of Origin:  129S2/SvPas
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA PGK-neo cassette replaced exon 9 and a 5' region of exon 10, both of which encode a portion of the functionally essential ligand-binding domain common to all isoforms. Western blot analysis demonstrated an absence of functional protein in homozygous mutant embryos. RNAse protection assays of mRNA derived from homozygous mutant embryos showed that only truncated transcripts were present. (J:43344)
