Mutation details: A transgene containing a hybrid DNA construct, which includes the regulatory sequences of the mouse alpha-crystallin gene and the early region of SV40, inserted into the gene. A founder mouse from one microinjection event produced offspring carrying two different integration sites. The subsequent lines are called EdarTg(OVE1A)Ove and EdarTg(OVE1B)Ove. In both cases, integration was accompanied by a genomic deletion and an intrachromosomal inversion. The deletions were found to be overlapping.
