origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:21588
Parent Cell Line:  D3 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S2/SvPas
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsExon 1 of the Vim gene was disrupted by insertion of a neomycin resistance cassette. Northern analysis of homozygous mutant animals did not detect Vim transcript in lung and spleen, but did detect a minor aberrant transcript in heart. Western analysis and immunofluorescence microsopy did not detect VIM protein in tissues of homozygous mutant mice. (J:21588)
