Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:14538
Parent Cell Line:  D3 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S2/SvPas
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA neomycin resistance cassette replaced 703 bp of sequence that codes for the DNA binding and leucine zipper domains. Western blot analysis of E9.5 lysates did not detect wild-type protein in homozygous mutant embryos. (J:14538)

Notes
ES cell line = D3-2. Mutant ES cells failed to contribute to the liver but not to other tissues of adult chimeric mice (J:14538). A developmental analysis of chimeras showed contribution of mutant ES cell derivatives to fetal, but not to adult livers, suggesting a role in hepatocyte turnover (J:55508).
