Notes
Sluc5 participates in additive interactions with other Sluc loci.

Animals homozygous for O20/A-derived alleles at Sluc5 and Sluc16 exhibit increased lung tumor size.

Animals homozygous for O20/A-derived alleles at Sluc5 and Sluc24 exhibit decreased lung tumor size.

Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:50525

The fact that inbred O/20 was more susceptible to lung tumors then Congenic B10.O20 allowed for the mapping of lung tumor genes in OcB Recombinated Congenic strains. Lung tumor size and number could also be assesed by the QTL analysis of F2 mice derived from progenitor O/20 and various OcB strains. Analysis of F2 mice between O/20 and OcB-6 indicated a lung cancer susceptibility gene Sluc5 associated with mouse Chromosome 1 marker D1Mit15.
