The authors use F2 progeny of the B10.RIII x RIIIS/J cross to identify QTLs associated with susceptibility to chronic experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). RIIIS/J mice are resistant to induction of disease; B10.RIII mice develop a chronic disease. The Eae3 QTL was associated with the D3Mit101 locus on mouse Chromosome 3.
