Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:66459

175 MRL/MpJ-Tnfrsf6lpr/Tnfrsf6lpr x (MRL/MpJ-Tnfrsf6lpr/Tnfrsf6lpr X C3H/HeJ-Tnfrsf6lpr/Tnfrsf6lpr)F1 backcross animals were typed for 139 microsatellite markers at an average spacing of 10 cM (excluding sex chromosomes) to identify QTLs associated with susceptibility to autoimmune sialadenitis.Parental strain MRL/MpJ-Tnfrsf6lpr/Tnfrsf6lpr is highly susceptible to sialadenitis (93.3% incidence) compared to parental strain C3H/HeJ-Tnfrsf6lpr/Tnfrsf6lpr (4% incidence). A highly significant locus, Asm1 (autoimmune sialadenitis in MRL mice 1), maps to mouse Chromosome 10 from38.4 cM - 40.0 cM (LOD = 4.8 at D10Mit115 and D10Mit259). Suggestive loci mapped to mouse Chromosome 18 at 22 cM (LOD = 3.7 at D18Mit227) and mouse Chromosome 1 at 65cM (LOD = 2.9 at D1Mit494). Asm1, D18Mit227, and D1Mit494 appear to interact in an additive fashion. Asm1 maps near another autoimmune QTL, Lmb4. A female-specific locus, Asm2, mapped to mouse Chromosome 4 from 48.5 cM - 53.6 cM (LOD = 4 at D4Mit255 and D4Mit199).
