Eye weight differs significantly between inbred strains C57BL/6J and DBA/2J. Eye weight was measured in the 26 strains in the BXD (C57BL/6J x DBA/2J) RI line and the variation was tightly correlated with mouse Chromosome 5 marker D5Mit346. Phenotypic analysis of F2 mice derived from (C57BL/6J x DBA/2J) mice verified the Chromosome 5 location of this QTL.
