This abstract discusses the mapping of quantitative trait loci (QTL) controlling the hormone-induced ovulation rate (HIOR) in mice. QTL linkage analysis of a (C57BL/6J x A/J)F1 x A/J backcross population mapped a QTL to mouse Chromosome 6, near D6Mit316.This locus was named Oriq3. Reproductive congenic strain test crosses were used to confirm the presence of the QTL. A single QTL is predicted.
