Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:29218

Analysis of male progeny from a (A/J x M. spretus)F1 x C57BL/6JBy backcross were analyzed. Interval mapping and quantitative trait linkage was used to map Pas1 to a 18 cM region on mouse Chromosome 6 between marker D6Mit12 and the cosegregating markers Kras, D6Mit14, D6Mit15 and D6Int1.

12.15.2015 Curator Note: Because Pas1 was orginally mapped in J:17778, in 1997 using an (C57BL/6J x A/J)F2 intercross which differs from the cross used here, we consider the current study a separate mapping experiment and have named this QTL Pas17.

Susceptibility to lung carcinogenesis was attributed to the mice carrying the A/J allele. Pas17 peaked at Kras2 with a LOD score higher than 8.0; accounting for 34% of the total phenotypic variablity.
