Notes |
Pid3 exhibits additive inheritance. Pid2 and Pid3 interact additively.
Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:65122Prion ( Scrapie) incubation times were analysed in 163 (SJL/J x CAST/Ei)F2 mice for Quantitative trait Loci that modify Scrapie disease. The onset of illness is shorter in SLJ/J mice then in CAST/Ei. F2 mice were analysed in a genome wide scan using 22shorter and 21 longer phenotypic variants. The results showed two regions of significants in the mouse genome. On chromosome 9 a region between D9Mit91 and D9Mit25 showed a significants with a peak LOD of 6.35. Moreover on Chromosome 11 a region between D11Mit219 and D11Mit212 showed a peak LOD of 5.60. The Chromosome 9 and 11 genes are designated as Pid2 and Pid3 respectively. With Pid2 showing a peak at D9Mit91 and Pid3 at D11Mit260 |
