Mutation details: DNA sequences encoding the entire open reading frame of the gene were replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. RT-PCR analysis on RNA derived from brain, kidney, liver, lung, testis and induced peritoneal macrophages demonstrated that no detectable transcript is produced from this allele. Immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry experiments confirmed that no detectable protein is expressed from this allele in induced peritoneal macrophages derived from homozygous mice.
