description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsInsertion of an IRES-beta-galactosidase-neomycin cassette into an intron interrupted the coding sequence between nt 460-850 in the first 1-2 immunoglobulin repeats. Northern analysis using a rat cDNA probe encompassing most of the extracellular domain did not detect transcript in heads of one-day-old homozygous mutant mice. Immunoblot analysis of brain immunoprecipitates using an affinity purified antibody against the intracellular juxtamembrane region did not detect protein in homozygous mutant newborn mice. A beta-galactosidase fusion protein was expressed by this allele under the control of the endogenous promoter. (J:53433)
