Notes |
Homozygous mutant mice survive embryonic development, but after birth show retarded growth and reduced fertility and survival. Impaired thrombolysis and fibrin deposition are observed. The symptoms resemble those following loss of both tissue and urokinase plasminogen activation (J:30174). Treatment of null mutant mice with exogenous plasminogen restores thrombolysis (J:34531). Ligneous conjunctivitis (OMIM 217090) has also been ascribed to PLG mutations (J:48307).
