Homozygous transgenic mice are viable and fertile. The transgene appears to be X-linked since transgene transmission through males is restricted to female offspring.
In transgenic mice, in conjunction with a transgene carrying a loxP-flanked gene, deletion of the loxP-flanked gene occurs in all tissues including germ cells. |
