Mutation details: A floxed PGK-neomycin resistance cassette deleted exon 2 and placed a silent mutation in exon 7. Cre-mediated recombination in vivo removed the neo cassette in the germ line. The authors predict that this allele would produce a correctly spliced protein that lacks 65 amino acids, almost the entire globular domain of the N-propeptide.
