Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsExon 4 of this gene was replaced with a PGK-hygromycin cassette resulting in the introduction of multiple stop codons in the reading frame and loss of the nucleotide binding domain and helix-loop-helix domain. Gene transcripts were not detected in testes of homozygous mutant animals as assayed by Northern blot. Immunolocalization experiments failed to detect protein on or around spermatocyte meiotic chromosomes of homozygous mutant animals. (J:62204)
