Notes |
Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markersJ:74459Genome scan at an average marker resolution of 20 cM was performed on (NZB/BlNJ x A/J)F1 x A/J backcross animals to identify loci associated with aggressive behavior. NZB/BlNJ males exhibit extremely aggressive behavior whereas A/J males are extremely unaggressive. Loci significantly associated with aggression, Aggr1 and Aggr2, mapped to 67.5 cM - 70 cM on mouse Chromosome 10 (LOD=6.3, between markers D10Mit267 and D10Mit103) and 14.5 cM - 17.2 cM mouse Chromosome X (LOD=5.0, between markers DXMit105 and DXMit159), respectively. NZB/BlNJ-derived alleles confer aggressive behavior in a dominant and fully penetrant manner at both loci. Aggr1 and Aggr2 do not appear epistatic but exhibit additive interaction. Possible candidate genes for Aggr1 include Dgka, Kif5a, and Olfr9. Possible candidate genes for Aggr2 include Gria3 and Hprt. |
