origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:56168
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA PGK-neo cassette replaced the promoter and exons 1 through 6. Northern blot analysis showed an absence of transcript in extracts isolated from the stomach and skin tissue of homozygous mutant mice. Western blot analysis confirmed a lack of encoded protein and normal levels of other alcohol dehydrogenases in homozygous mutant animals. (J:56168)
