Parent Cell Line:  E14.1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsES cells were transfected with a construct in which a LoxP site was inserted just upstream of exon 11 and a floxed neomycin-thymidine-kinase region inserted downstream. The transient expression of cre recombinase in ES cells resulted in the excision of the selection genes and exon 11, which encodes a portion of the transmembrane domain IV and is included in all known splice variants.
