Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsA promoterless neomycin resistance gene was inserted in frame into exon 10, and all of intron 10 and part of exon 11 were deleted. The deleted sequences encode part of the DNA binding domain and the leucine zipper domain. RT-PCR analysis on total brain RNA demonstrated that no transcripts containing the 3' end were detectable; however, a fusion transcript containing the lacZ sequences is detected. (J:47431)
