Notes
Transgenic animals express 4 times the amount of endogenous mRNA transcripts and exhibit and increased incidence of spontaneous tumorigenesis. Susceptibility to tumor formation appears to be influenced by gene dosage. One half of hemizogous transgenic animals succumb to neoplasia by 84 weeks of age compared to 61 weeks for homozygous transgenic animals.
