Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsExon 1 was disrupted by the insertion of a cassette containing an IRES-lacZ gene and MC1-neo gene. A lack of ligand binding, determined by receptor autoradiography, indicated an absence of encoded protein in the brain and spinal cords of homozygous mutant mice. Immunohistochemical analysis, using an antibody raised against the carboxy terminus confirmed the lack of encoded protein. (J:46629)
